Excellent collection! I particularly like the Roalnd! The schemes you have chosen certainly present a colorful array. Seeing all of those Revelle and Airfix kits in 1/72nd certainly brings back fond memories! I am glad that you were inspired by Jorgs thread to post your work!

Thanks for showing these - I like the little Camel! To be honest I don't know how you guys work in 1/72.... it just seems so small my clumsy fingers and poor eyesight couldn't cope.

cheers

There is some very nice stuff there, Sir.

I like the Albatri in particular. Even the Nieuport that seems to have had an unfortunate encounter is well finished.

When you speak of varnish going off, I presume you mean a matte clear? These can leave a frosty effect if too thick, or thickly applied. I sweat each time I apply one. Did you paint over the color again, and leave the decals? I av had some luck fixing 'matte frost' by applying a thin gloss coat (more specifically, Future, the magic floor covering turned modeller's aid), and also with a bi of a rub down with a polishing pad (3000 grit, from an auto supply store).

I will often go over decals with various washes, to get them less stark. Black decals particularly will benefit from being gone over with a dark grey wash, and rubbed down a bit with the pad.

Yes, I repainted the wing, didn't know what to do to the decals. Now that I've had time to get over it a bit I'll give your suggestions a try, Cheers.

Again thanks for all the kind comments.
Regards, Ken

That's a wonderful collection you've got there, Ken.  I particularly like Breadner's Camel, one of my favorite Camel schemes.  The wood tones on you Albatros are very pleasing and as OM alluded to, many of us try very hard to achieve the toned down effect on the crosses which you apparently just lucked onto.  Very nice.
Cheers,
Bud

Thanks for sharing!  As others have stated, it's a great collection!  I hope to one day come close.
