It looks nice and shiny but I wished I'd weathered down the fuselage & decals a bit more.
Gary, to my eye and IMHO, I don't think the level of weathering on the fuselage is a mis-match for that on the wings. I believe you have a nice and consistent level overall....there's nothing that jars the eye, at least in the photos.
I have been experimenting with using compound and wax over my gloss finishes and find it works very well to even out the gloss and allows one to choose just how glossy the finish will be. I believe this will go a long way in giving a more realistic and scale appearance to varnished fuselages.
Tamiya makes a range of compounds which I intend to try. They seem to be intended for the model car crowd but a finish is a finish is a finish.
