Albatros D.XI, Karaya, 1:48
« on: November 09, 2015, 06:28:37 PM »
Hello,
Get back to resin and rather sticker action than painting, I start up the thread referring to experimental planes with …yes - no rigging :)
Albatros D.XI with 11 cylinder (160hp) rotary engine manufactured by Siemens-Halske, released by Karaya several years ago. I have decided to picked this one as still got some MicroSculpt lozenge and Uschi wood structure decals, so started up with airfoil.

K

A really nice start on this one. Your application of the Lozenge and edging tape is awesome!

K,
Having spent the last 2 days of Modelling time doing the lozenge on my SSW DIII I can appreciate the amount of work your photos represent! Great job on the edge tapes. Will you be adding the rib tapes as well or did this aircraft have them?
Cheers,
Lance

Yes indeed, I have done it already but have to gather photos. Used Techmod decals, which were too thick for the implementation, so had to separate them into two parts

You're off to a great start, K!  So glad to see you doing this kit.  I love the Karaya line.  Very fine casting of some interesting subjects.  I'm looking forward to following your build.
Cheers,
Bud

You have done a very impressive job with the decals K, and the edge tapes are superb.

This is coming together nicely, K! The seat and seatbelts look great and your lozenge and rib tapes are done perfectly!
