New Airfix 1:72 scale WW1 kits
« on: November 06, 2015, 07:49:06 AM »
David Wilson has sent me an email with information on two soon to be released 1:72 scale WW1 aircraft kits, this is exciting news from Airfix and will be well received by the 1:72 scale builders, well done Airfix.

Nice!  An E.II, which will nicely compliment my Eduard E.III and E.IV.

I don't usually build in 1/72 but it's nice to see that Airfix is adding more WW1 kits to the market! These two kits look like they would be a fun break from the overly involved 1/32 kits that have been consuming me.

It is good to see Airfix taking an active role in bringing  WW1 aircaft back into focus at the smaller scales. Although beyond my fat old sausage fingers skill level I'm sure they will make a lot of folks very happy and draw a more than a few into the WW1 fratenity with them.

I may buy one or two just to play with... taking me back XX years when the Bristol DRI dogfight double was the most exciting thing I built and so sealed my interest in WW1 as a subject.

I hope that these kits will become the new benchmark for 1/72 and I hope that the after market boys will give us the goodies to super detail.

I may well have to go for an E.II myself.

Seriously looking forward to the 'Quirk', Sir. Have plans for several.

If they are getting back in the Great War 1/72 market, I certainly hope they consider the SPAD 7 and the Pup for new tooling.

I'm hoping that I'll see some pre-production samples and sprues on display at the Airfix stand at Telford in a few hours time.

Best wishes

Hello people,

I thought while Ray and Angie are out of the office I would post this picky of our December cover-we have some great previews of the new Airfix kits, plus ref photos and drawings. It's out next month.

Have fun,

Fiona.

Finally something better looking than my Revell Eindecker and more obtainable than the Eduard Eindecker. Although I will be honest and say that I will get the BE2c as well!
