Hello Everybody,

in recent days, I finally came to the workbench again.
In the plan, the decals were to get on the wings.
Since this was new territory again, it was quite difficult this to get it. In addition, more of fright when you've done it the plasticizer, which then form the folds.
Unfortunately, some have remained few get, but I can live with.
Then I looked to my next "nemesis" in the eyes. The propeller! At first I was going to buy me a matching wooden propeller. But since there were problems with order, I have
opted for the propeller Template by GB Productions. The result can be seen in the photos.
The eyelets were prepared then be next. The holes drilled on the wings a little and then placed the eyelets. Thus, the stress is getting closer, because the rigging is coming nearer. But now I'm already
come this far, so I let myself not be beaten!

Thank you watching and leaving a comment.

I wish you all a nice time before christmas

Kindly regards

Jörg

Jörg,

the eyelets must be smaller in diameter. Use 0.09 or 0.10mm wire and wrap the wire around a 0.2mm drill.
try it

The prop is nice!

Your wing-lozenge is not bad - BUT beware, the lozenge on the lower wing is too near to the fuselage - there is no lozenge on the wooden wing stubs.

Sorry for the small criticism!

Greetings to Berlin!

Hi Bertl,

criticism is welcome. So i can learn. ;-)

mmh, i use a 0,1 mm drill ?! ::)

And your are right, i have to change the lozenge at the wing stubs.

Thank you very much for the hint.

greetings back to Bavaria!

Jorg

Overall nice work. Bertl is right about the fabric. Theres a line on the wing which is where the wooden stub is. the fabric should stop there.

On the eyelets I use Stainless steel braided hose from flexible water pipe, I cut them up and unravel the thin steel wires. The reason I use this is the steel is incredibly strong and thin. I use a small fishing hook fixed into a dowel or piece of sprue... remember to snip the barb off though :o to twist the wire tight.

Nice work and I jope the tip helps.

Oh - sorry Jörg, I meant to wrap the wire around a 0.1mm drill.
Twist the wire slightly narrower.
It goes relatively easily when the wire diameter is smaller.

Your lozenge application came out quite nicely! Once you change the inner edges of the lower wings to wood you will be good to go! I am looking forward to your next update.

It's looking quite nice, Jörg! For a first build in a long time you are picking up the techniques very quickly.

This is my favorite version of the Albatros D.Va. I love the skulls! I plan on doing the same one when I build mine.

Hello Everybody,

After the Christmas break, it finally went on with the Albatros.
The rigging was scheduled. The first time for me and so I was a little bit excited.
First started up with the upper wing, and it was  a foretaste of the threading of the threads. When I had mounted the top wing, I noticed that the brass sleeves were actually get too big top. But I decided to exercise in front right on my first model grace. So it stayed that way.
The assembly of the upper wing was not so easy, because the bottom had to be bent upward, so that they fit. But in the end it worked out.
So I was able to string the first page ready and on weekends when I rest i will did the other side's turn. I'm already a bit proud of it, although there are some small mistakes, that I did not mention here. ;)
But the next model will no longer be made. And that's the whole point.

So, I wish you all a happy new year and a lot of time to scale modeling!  :D

Kind regards

Jörg
