Wingnut Wings "Albatros D Va" First Building Report
« on: November 01, 2015, 12:53:15 AM »
Hi Guys!

Please excuse, but some were written using the Google translator. It's faster for me. I hope it still is understandable

Today, it is now to be ready. My first building report from my long first model to have its beginning.
It is so far from everything to be perfect, and in construction report as the model. Should it not be also.
Because it just makes a lot of fun. The building, as well as the time of writing. : D
I am glad to have found another "old friend" and a satisfying activity that can be switched off me and smile a magic to the face.
Although it sometimes can cost quite nervous.
But now I want to start slow.
I'll try you on the birth of the "Albatros D Va" of WnW partake permit. My interest is always the aviation of World War 1, and so I was immediately hooked, as I had discovered the site of New Zealand.
Sometimes the photos jump something because I simply forgot to photograph some steps. I promise improvement! : rolleyes:

Such was the box, when he arrived with me. Christmas in August!

This is the workbench, and I, where the plane is to be completed

Since missing some pictures painted by the fittings such as the rest were but also in the cockpit. The straps are from RB Production.
After priming, the wooden structure was indicated by oil paint, Inside I've dispensed with decals for the wood. That I did not wanted to make it equal too heavy for me. Frustration, there will be in the course of building enough. ;) In the trunk I will, however, later rely on the Decals by Uschi van der Rosten. Well, let's see.

Next, the ammunition container and the tank were then due.

Was taken as this hurdle, the engine was on. As you can see on the internet yes truly masterpieces. I wanted to at least try to imitate ignition cables, medium copper cable and spark plugs made of brass tubes.
Also brass pipe is the pipe on the engine block along by the ignition cables are laid. After several aborted drills and a lot of curses and nerve loss, it is me reasonably satisfactorily managed.

Here are a few photos of the emergence of the motor

This is also the current state of affairs. The next parts of the engine mount, are ready for painting.
However, I will this week have to undergo another knee surgery and thus take a forced break.
After a grace period, it is then but go further. I hope I do not forget to take pictures and then you can run the report on.
I am of course grateful for tips and tricks. And for creating the building report, as for the construction of the model itself.
Because, as already written, I start not start up again. As well ... as!

I hope it is reasonably worth reading and worth considering! :)

Greetings from Berlin

Jörg

It looks like your skills are up to the challenge of building the Albie! Your interior wood colors are excellent. The fuel tank and engine are beautifully done! I see that you made the seat cushion. Which method did you use?

Hi,

Thank you RAGIII.
The method i used, is this one.

You see, it´s from our "old" friend Umlaufmotor.
He did it better, but i try to get close to his work. The next plane i would do it a little bit better. ;)

regards
Jörg

Great start Jorg! The engine is superb and the wood effect very nicely done. You've got a "winner" coming here.

Hi folks,

So now it can go on again. I have my surgery well and can at least sit again at my Workbench.
What more do i want! 8)
In the next steps I have primed the engine mount and then "painted" with oil paint the wood imitation.
Then came Mr Hobby Clear Orange as a final plan.
When everything was dried I have installed everything and talk let the place "marriage" to the sample, between the engine and the fuselage.
Fits! ;D
Then i  continued with the preparation for priming the hull. That meant filling and sanding.
Finally then, cover the cockpit and the engine compartment. Then i can start with the primer!

Thanks for looking. And of course, tips and tricks for the construction of the model and to create the Buildingreport are welcome!

Kindly regards

Jörg

Really good work, Jörg.  Your fuel tank is gorgeous as is the seat.  I have delayed
my Alby for a long time for fear of all the wood painting.  You have done a terrific
job of it.  I look forward to seeing your next updates.  Well done, my friend!

Cheers,
Ernie :)
