Show us your Bristol Scout
« on: April 04, 2024, 08:01:32 PM »
Hi all,
This is the 1:32nd scale ‘Copper State Models’ model of Bristol Scout C, Serial number 1260 of No.5 Wing (RNAS), operating from Dover as part of Home Defence in 1916.

As usual, a fully detailed build log, which includes all materials, modifications, rigging etc for this build can be downloaded from the 'Logs' page on my site.

What a wonderful model Scout, Mike -

Love the display with your figures which add real life to your model.

Regards

Dave

My take on Bunnie Bremner's machine. A lovely kit!

Terrific models both. What a breadth of talent in the group. Wonder how long before we get a Scout D from CSM?

Hi Nigel,
I'm currently building 1264 as it is now, flown by David Bremner.
The model is for Theo Wilford, partner and builder of the Scout.
Apart from some changes to the present day cockpit, it'll be basically an OOB build,

Mike

I'll look forward to seeing that. I'm sure Theo will be very grateful.

Don't make the same mistake I did. For some reason (stupidity? old age? possibly both?) I misread the instructions and forgot to remove the upper stitching line on the RH fuselage. I only realised this when I was close to finishing the aircraft. That's why you only ever see it photgraphed from the left...... :)

I LOVE warbird models - my preferred topic, in fact - so I am very excited to see that one, Mike!
