Ferrari 250 GTO Fujimi 1/24
« on: October 18, 2015, 10:45:36 PM »
Some offtopic modelling :) A Ferrari 250 GTO, imo one the best looking cars ever made. This kit is by Fujimi and it came with the PE wheels as a set. I additionally throwed in some PE and resin engine, but the engine was really unnecesary when it comes down to this kit. An excellenty kit by Fujimi, I reccomend it.  ANyway here is the end result

Beautiful job Sasho, and nice to see one in something other than red for a change. But in any shade the GTO is truly a sublime thing...

I echo these words exactly, and will add, superb.

Thank you for the comments guys, I wanted to go away from the boring (not really) or erm....classic  red color for a Ferrari. Initially I decided on building the blue and yellow  250 GTO, but I broke the blue paint just before laying the final blue spraying. Then instead of buying new blue paint, and wait to receive it from UK, I just repainted it all yellow.
If any of you decide on building this car, and don't want to give 200-300EUR for the Model Factory Hiro kit, this Fujimi offering is nearly as good, especially f you get the kit with the added PE.

Beautiful model.

BTW  do you have any idea of what a real one would go for in auction?   I know it would be a butt load.

"Real one" is the operative word, as there are a ton of fakes -- certainly way more fake ones than real ones. There are a lot of Ferrari 250 GTEs (the production bodied 4 seater) lying around in barns without engines... (borrowed of course for 250 GTO replicas.)

Last year a GTO with substantial history went for $38 million and change. (And now you understand why there are so many fakes!)
