RAF FE2b Aeroclub 1/48
« on: October 12, 2015, 02:25:55 AM »
Since I`ve become interested in WWI aircrafts I wanted to have the Fee in my collection. Thanks to Oeffag from this very forum, who sold me the kit my dream is taking shape.
The kit itself is a typical short-run... I replaced the pilot`s seat, added Eduard`s seatbelts and some scratch built details in the cockpit so far. Also the engine needed some minor re-working to confirm to 120 hp version. I`m going to start rigging pretty soon! I know it looks crude but I don`t have much time lately since I`ve become a proud father for the first time! ;D

Best regards
Filip

Looks great to me! I had this kit before I sold most of my 1/48th stuff... never got the nerve to start  :-[ Yours is coming together quite nicely!

Beautiful start, Filip!  The cockpit detail you've added looks fantastic.  And congratulations on the new addition to your family!  Boy or girl?
I've got this kit in my stash and just ordered the Copper State Beardsmore so now that you're blazing the trail, I'll have to follow.
Cheers,
Bud

It`s a girl:) Her name`s Ludwika therefore I`m planning to build an Albie D.V with "LULU" marking on the fuselage...
Thanks for your kind words my friends!
When it comes to the engine replacing the kit`s Beardmore is a good idea. The one from the kit needed some surgery and it still looks heavy :-[
I`m looking forward to see your work on the FEE Bud!
Best regards

You've packed a lot of very nice detail into this one so far, Filip. The engine is superb. I'll be starting a 1;32 "Fee" in the near future and will be watching your work on this one very closely.
Cheers,
Lance

Congratulations Filip on the birth of your daughter.  Your Fee is looking extremely good, the extras you added to the cockpit and the modifications to the engine have all been well worth the effort, this is shaping up to be a very nice looking model.

Cheers gentlemen!
Another update. The majority of rigging is done. I had to replace to front wheel of the Oleo undercarriage - I didn`t like it since it was casted as one piece. I`ve replaced it with a 72nd scale wheel (of a correct diameter) from the spares box...
