Revell 1:28 Dr.1

I know the scheme isnt very scale but its an OOB build so it was ok
I aimed for a war torn battle tested and survived plane and I dont think I did too bad. For an old kit it surely tested my patience but im happy with it.
First plane Ive completed in a long time

Nothing at all wrong with your colour choice, it looks very authentic to my eyes and just the right amount of weathering, you have done a superb job with this very old kit.

Cajun, your color choice and weathering are spot on. Fantastic job.
Cheers,

I agree with Des and Bud. The color is terrific and the weathering very well done. I saw this on Facebook the other day and am glad you decided to post it here!

Looks great to me - the weathered red works very nice and give a good used impression. Great job on that old kit (great kit - was way ahead of its times!)

I agree with others regarding your shade of red and weathering - looks great.
Good model DR1. These large scale Revell WW1 kits are pretty good on the whole.

Cajun,
Beaucoupe congratulations my friend. I truly do love to see a talented modeler take on such a classic like the Revell Fokker Dr.I. Most impressive color choice on her red. What red did you use?

Used Tamiya Flat Red
I did alot of preshading on the wings and fuselage and cowling....Primer grey and shaded with flat black..and when I sprayed red it came out just a little dark. After painting I hit it with Vallejo Gloss...decals and such.... Then Oversprayed with Flat Black very thinly to achieve the dark weathering.... If you would see the plane in person you can tell it was overdone.... but in natural light and pictures... its looks good
