Misterkit color are the most accurate WW1 colors that you can find on market,I know personally Giorgio the howner of Misterkit ant the man that have make the reserch around the world tho keep the real shade of the colors and the toned down for match it in scale.
I personally mix the pale blue whit some white and grey usually 8 0,5 0,5 +extra 2 part of gloss(vallejo or wax) to make more shinny the surface to avoid the heavy coat if use the gloss after the painting step.
Remember Misterkit color are similar to vallejo color so to thin it I use some product like windex or similar(those for clean the windows) in this proportion 60 thinner 40 color,; the frist coat can be very trasparent,don't insist to spray,don't worry , let it dry and the second coat will cover very well.
This procedure preserve all the fine surface details.
