1/28 Airc DH-2
« on: August 01, 2015, 06:57:54 AM »
Hello everyone, before there was Roden, Before there was Wing Nuts, I had to have a large scale DH-2. So, a 1/28 Revell Sopwith Camel was thrown into the cauldron and quickly surrendered it's wings, engine cylinders, propeller and beautiful Palmer Aero Cord tires. I think the cats got the rest. The build entailed all the usual stuff: Evergreen Styrene, brass, aluminum, resin-cast struts with wire centers and Grandt Line HO scale turnbuckles. This was also an early attempt at resin casting. Thank you for looking.

Absolutely gorgeous Pietro, building this aeroplane from a kit is hard enough but to do a complete scratch build is amazing, you are an extremely talented modeler.

Thank you all for your generous comments. Coming from masters such as yourselves, is very gratifying. But, hey, it's just a hobby.

I wholly agree with Michael: this is work of a standard that is rarely seen. As one who has used kits for conversions in God's Own Scale I can only marvel at what you have achieved in this scale. I cannot express adequately in words what I think of this and your other models. Brilliant is an understatement.

Stephen.
