1911 curtiss triad A-1
« on: July 25, 2015, 06:03:08 PM »
Hello everyone, this is my 1/32 scratch-built Triad A-1. Built it for the 100th anniversary of U.S Naval aviation, for a contest at Fort Worden, Washington State in 2011. All the usual ingredients: Evergreen Styrene, brass wire and tubing. Home brewed hand carved prop, resin cast struts with wire centers. Took some short cuts; skipped turn buckles, fuel and coolant hook ups as I built it as a museum model. I have to say Des, I think you did a much better job on yours.   Thanks again

You have done an exceptional job with this build Pietro, it is a slightly different version to the one I built but an excellent looking model, congratulations on completing a somewhat difficult scratch build, you pulled it off beautifully.

Nice model, Pietro! That's one of the nicest hand carved props I've seen! Thanks for sharing these pics and again, welcome to the forum! :D

She's truly stunning, Pietro!  I'm so glad you got photobucket sorted and are able, now, to post photos of your marvelous work.  Keep 'em coming.
Cheers,

Thank you all so much for the kind words. The Triad was a fun project because of the research and problem solving to complete it. Again, as the best modelers out there, thank you.
