Hello everyone,
It's been quite a while since I started a WW1 subject (about a year or so)...

I recently picked up the new Eduard 1/48 Siemens-Schuckert D.III kit, which is a vast improvement over their old mould kit from the '90s. I also got hold of their Brassin engine and guns, and the cloth seatbelts.
I haven't done too much yet - mainly just the Brassin engine, which is a resin and etch drop-in replacement for the kit parts (to which it is superior in just about every way). The resin is a little tricky to remove from the pour stubs, but the great thing is that the cylinders are all moulded to the crank case, which removes the requirement for any alignment. Here it is, painted up in alclad "stainless steel"- I had real trouble trying to photograph this thing and still pick up the lovely sheen that the alclads produce... even with a couple of lighting configurations..... oh well....!

Next i'll make a start on the interior, which looks quite comprehensive compared to the datafile pics.
Cheers
BC
