Re Austro-Daimler -- I think with the right accessories, yes. Beardmore 160 hp was a copy of the A-D 6, I think later Austro Daimlers like the 225 hp version had different carburetors etc.

a-d did make an inline 6 that is essentially a beardmore 6 like in a fe2b. most times when someone around here talks about an austro daimler engine they are talking about the 185 or 225 hp type that was used in a-h fighters. these look totally different except for the fact that they are an inline 6. which looks as different from a hiero. which looks completely unique. the only things a hiero has in common with the beardmore/austro-daimler 6 like the fee had is that they exhaust on the port whereas most ww1 inline 6 engines exhaust on the starboard otherwise they look quite different to me.

cept that a fee is a pusher lol so port and starboard are flipped in relation to the engine.

Bo and Albie, thank you for your input. I really want to sratch build the Phönix D.II or the Berg D.I a/c in 1:32 scale. I just need a good set of drawings!
