WnW Fokker DVII OAW in Finnish Markings
« on: June 04, 2015, 01:25:12 AM »
Hi folks! I've been away from this forum for quite some time, due to the normal life troubles we all have to pass through! So I am back in business too with the great OAW Fokker DVII from Sir Peter Jackson Mojo! The Finns did use the DVII removing the Spandaus MGs and ( my guess) closing the open space with a metal sheet of some kind. I have used the HGW combo on that one, including seat belts and bits of photo etch. For the fuselage I have used the kit's four lozenges decals but I am now waiting for my Aviatticc wings decals to complete the model. So here is a step by step of the work done so far. Stay tuned and keep it up! Cheers, jean.

Best regards from France.

Lovely work thus far, Jean!  She's gonna be a stunner.
Cheers,

You did a superb job on the engine and cockpit Jean, and now that the fuselage is closed up it is looking even better. Lovely work on the decal application and the painting, the prop looks excellent.

Merci Des! Those Aviattic decals are great but require some experience. It will be interesting to have a part of the plane with the WNW decals from the kit and the whole wings with Aviattic. I go back to my workbench! Cheers to you all! 8) 8)

I really, really like this one! You've done a wonderful job with the engine and the last photo in your first post, of the fuselage resting on its wheels, looks like a real aircraft.

Hi gang! Here we are with the last up date. I have put the Aviattic decals on the wing, but next time I will order a 4 or 5 losanges with ribs as mine were linen and did not suit the model I built. So I had to dig in the decal dungeon and work on the two wings. It takes time but I am satisfied with the result and I like the trick to weather your wing before putting the decals on. I will go further in that field for my next project. Lower wing, tail, rudder and masts are glued in place. No rush then, there are still a couple of details to work on before gluing the upper wing! Best regards, jean. 8) 8)
