These pictures take me back almost half a century when a few of us Air Cadets went down to Cosford on an orientation course - to encourage us to join the RAF.
We were scheduled to go flying one day but the weather was too bad so, at a loss what to do with us, they set us free in these historic aircraft hangars with the order not to break anything!
I remember two or three hours of climbing about these kites, sitting in the cockpits of the Fw190, Mosquito, Me410 etc. Unfortunately I had no camera even if my skills would have been up to the task!
I haven't been back for years, partly because being cordoned off from my previous playthings would have been such a let down.
Who was it said youth is wasted on the young?
