G'day.
Michelle and I have just returned from a flying visit to the north of Wales, where she was searching for her grandfather's farm and family stomping grounds. However we also agreed to a visit to Cosford as part of the trip. The RAF website had said that none of the WWI aircraft were on display, so I was very surprised and pleased to find the Pup, 1
1/2 Strutter and M.1c sitting in the hangar.
Unfortunately it was fairly late in the day when we got to that hangar, not reaching Cosford until about 1400hrs. So there was a lot of light coming in at certain angles, making for some high contrast shots where the flash refused to work- silhouettes aren't much use for detail. I also had to work around other people who wanted to view the aircraft. I know one chap was rather annoyed at my hogging the available photo' space. Just as well I'm an ignorant bloody Aussie and such behaviour is expected.....

Michelle's point&click camera is good, but my photography skills are not. Of the 126 photo's I took, only about 40 were of any real use. The photo's could be much better, but hopefully they'll still be of some use.
The photo's here are thumbnails, so the files load more quickly. If you click on the links then you'll get larger photo's.
The "live" colour was a dusty chocolate brown with a slight grey cast, with an uneven, light yellow-brown finish under the wings and tail. The chocolate brown looked a good match for Humbrol 98.
Cheers.
Dal.
