Albatross DV & Fokker EIII
« on: April 19, 2015, 11:02:56 AM »
My diversion Eduard's 1/48 Alby D V and the Revell 1/72 Fokker E III.The Fokker I am not sure about the color itself it called for 75% Olive and 25% Yellow and it looked streaky kinda like the Fokker Triplane. The base color was olive drab then olive oil with a y/gold oil applied with a fan brush it was fun and relaxing anyway ;)

The Alby needs to be retouched on the green of the tail for the red.I just was trying to paint the outside edge red before applying the decals for hopefully a better result?I screwed up on the Alby with the MG's though by not putting them in the sequence as requested by the instructions hoping to pop them in later so as not to have to mask around them as well as the engine.

Hi Kevin ,

I like shade of green on the Fokker , but I'm the last person in the world to ask about it's finish . I really don't know lot's on this type . There are others here who know the subject pretty good and can answer your question .
In the end though , if your happy with it that's all that really matters .

Hope you feel better soon ...

Kevin,
Your builds are coming along nicely. If it were mine, I would go with a grey green versus straight green for the Fokker. That being said who can say for sure....

I think the colour shown on the WnW E.III (late) box top would be
right on for your Eindecker.  Having said that, I think you are off to
a flying start with both models, Kevin! :D

Cheers,
Ernie :)

Thks for the replies fellas ;) I have gotten a little further on here.I have to paint the white strip on the EIII they give you the red but no white?and the prop on the Alby may be up for a redo my 3rd attempt this time of dong a lighter color.I have been using acrylic base, oils and a Tamy orange acrylic clear on top but still rubbing off some?and thinking of going yellow acrylic this go round also.

Looks very nice Kevin, but I'm afraid Cajun is right; you have the rudder on 90 degrees off. The flat edge (where it hinges) should run up and down:
