Goering's Fokker E.III

I plan on doing a small collection of a few aces with Goering being one of them.  I have found several references for his Albatros D.V and several Fokker D.VIIF's, but I haven't found much on his E.III.  Is it a late or early version and also does anyone have any pictures or illustrations of the scheme?  I am putting my fourth and final for now order from WnW and would like to add the appropriate Fokker.

Hi Nic,
I don't believe that Goring flew a Fokker E.III.  I just checked the book "Hermann Goring - Fighter Ace" by Peter Kilduff, and it says Goring transferred from FFA 25, where he flew two seaters to AFA 203 on 7/9/16 where he flew a Halberstadt D.II serial no. D 115/16.  His friend Bruno Loerzer flew an Eindecker at this time and crashed it, which goring photographed at the time, but it does not say that he ever flew one in combat.  Perhaps in training but not in combat.

He started the war as an observer, then trained up as a pilot. Goring flew 2 seater's &, for a short time, even the AEG G.II.

He did go up for a quick spin in an early Fokker EI, but he never flew one again.

By the time he got into single seat fighters, the Fokker E had been thoroughly outclassed & he started in a Halberstadt D.II. He went onto the Albatros single seat fighters, before ending up in the Fokker D.VII.

Here is where it gets confusing for me then.  I have seen a couple of references online stating that he did claim one victory in an E.III.

Hi Nic,
Not sure who Paperquest5 is, but his reference "He gained another flying a Fokker E.III single-seater scout in March 1916." is not correct.  He does reference Peter Kilduff's book, but according to the list of victories confirmed for Goring he was credited with one on 3/14/16, but was flying AEG G.1 G 49/15 with 2 other crew and downed a Caudron G.4.  This is the only claim he had in march 1916.

I can't find the other reference I had seen but it appears they are incorrect.  I did find another reference that showed his third victory in June of '16 so tat website is obviously way off.  Thank you all for the help.  Guess I will get a different kit to replace the E.III

Not to worry Nic, there are plenty of aces that flew the E.III, early aces like Immlemann, Boelcke, Buddecke and Wintgens, and one of my favorites Ernst Udet. Oh, good Lord yes!  My wife bought me the first three volumes for Christmas, and they are chocked full of Eindecker goodness. I'm not a fan of the type, but I have to admit to catching a bit of Eindecker fever reading these.
(I highly recommend this series to ANYONE with an interest in the Deutsche Luftstreitkräfte. It's a great series. I hope and pray he finishes what he started.)
