Cricket World Cup
« on: March 30, 2015, 03:53:47 AM »
Congratulations to Australia after winning the cricket world cup.

I am not a huge fan of the one day game, it can be a bit of a lottery, and I prefer the 5-day "proper" test match version of the game.

However, take nothing away from the Aussies' achievement - at least your country turned up!!!

I just wish I'd been able to see even one game of it here in the US.....

Australia look a very complete team. Good, aggressive captain, great opening bowlers, batsmen who are not afraid to hit the ball - everything England lack.

England's performance made me proud I'm Welsh....

Looking forward to the Ashes & rugby world cup. Wales games against England & Australia could be epic.

I think we were lucky the final was played at the MCG, it might well have been a different result had the Black Caps been on a smaller ground and playing with a home crowd behind them.
Woof!

No, we would still have lost. Much as the Blackcaps deserve praise for reaching the final, they were punching above their weight and it showed when the pressure of the final came to bear. Beaten by the occassion as much as the Aussies.

I thought the Blackcaps' performances ahead of the final came as a breathe of fresh air and I really enjoyed watching them.

Best wishes
Nigel

Well, New Zealand can't win the cricket world cup and rugby world cup in the same year.

That would just be greedy.

They have chosen wisely!

I didn't know that crickets played sports.  Hopping contests maybe?  hmm
