Italery WWI 1/32
« on: February 20, 2015, 11:52:08 PM »
Hello Folks!

Italeri in 2015 preview, announced a Sopwith Camel and Nieuport 17 in 1/32 with "Special Details":

http://www.italeri.com/news_scheda.asp?idNews=527

That´s the question: Is this aged Hobbycraft/Academy kits?

Thanks for help.

Hello Sosenka

I'm sorry that I can't answer your immediate question but I also note from their dowloadable pdf that in 1/72 scale they list a SPAD XIII and a boxed set combining an SE5a and an Albatros D.III

Thanks for the link.

Best wishes
Nigel

Thought I read on another site that they are the older kits. I seem to remember that Italeria has reboxed older Eastern European tank kits before so this would not be a surprise.

Anyways found the link for what it is worth.

Hello Derrick;

In that site, I liked the Jennings Heilig response: "...Why doesn't Academy toss the old Camel tooling into the Yellow Sea?..."
This aged mold knock down the Hobbycraft/Academy, and now Italeri, efforts.

Good Chasing!

Old academy Camel and Ni 17... We can only hope they have new decals.
The little new are the ex esci... They were nice, but now they are relics...
I hope that someone will make the spad again.
For the others we have roden.

i would bet money these are old molds. and why do they keep re-poping them cuz they sell. people who arent into ww1 aero know about the sopwith camel and nieuport scout as well as a spad xiii. the spad actually isnt that bad, you gotta toss the guns and soup up the pit but its o.k. dont mind a rebox of that one. italeri is famous for re-releasing everyone elses molds.

I'd have preferred the good Camel and the spad xiii
Italeri five years ago promised a caproni in 1/48 (teaming with MPM) but the project went to an halt " for the lack of interest"
It would be fantastic if they bring that out again teaming with Eduard...
