SE5a
« on: February 14, 2015, 01:22:26 AM »
Hi all,
My WNW SE5a 'Hisso' of No.40 Squadron, RAF during early  1918, as flown by Capt. G.H. Lewis.
Third party bits were seat belts from HGW, Vickers guns, prop by Doug Craner, figures by Kellerkind and turnbuckles from Gaspatch.

Excellent SE5!  Gorgeous clean model and diorama.  I wonder
what you used for the "mud" on the wheels? It adds a very nice
touch. :D

Cheers,
Ernie :)

Hi Ernie,
The tyre 'mud' was brushed on, using a mixture of Humbrol 'Earth' weathering powder, mixed with Tamiya acrylic Matt coat.

An extremely nice looking SE.5a, very well finished and the mud on the wheels is superb, the addition of figures finishes the scene beautifully.

Lovely work on the SE5a, Sandbagger. I've just started work on the exact same aircraft and hope I can reach the same standard.

Best wishes
Nigel

Hi all,
Many thanks for your forum comments on my models.  It means a lot to have comments from many who I consider ‘masters’ in this craft  :)
