I noticed the Pfalz D.IIIa has disappeared from the front
page, replaced by the D.XII...I wonder if the D.IIIa is
next to fall?

Cheers,
Ernie :)

That's where my logic was at a few days back when I ordered one, Ernie! I still have this horrible memory of dragging my feet over the "Harry Tate", and then suddenly there it was,............gone!
Cheers,
Lance

My logic too. I ordered both pfalzs, DVa and roland dvia, just to be sure....

I have no doubt there is a little flurry of panic buying and stash speculation going on right now, so I suspect stocks of the older single seaters are dwindling.

So, from this list,

32005 1/32 Gotha G.IV            US$149
32008 1/32 Sopwith Triplane         US$69
32009 1/32 Albatros D.V        US$69
32011 1/32 Fokker D.VII (Fok)        US$79
32015 1/32 Albatros D.Va        US$69
32027 1/32 Fokker D.VII (Alb)        US$79
32030 1/32 Fokker D.VII (OAW)    US$79

Missing from the list of sold out kits is the L.V.G. and HB W.29.

Cuz those had already sold out ;)

However the Re8 and the 1st duelist set didn't appear in the April Fools Prophecy.... so nothing's perfect... but still -- everyone was surprised to see the Sop Tripe and the first D.VII go and here they are, and now two more very popular kits, also on this list...

FWIW, I predict the Fokker D.VII (Alb) will be the next to go and here's my thinking - the D.VII(Fok) was the first of the three D.VIIs released in November 2012 to sell out which sparked panic buying of the others.  Now the OAW version is gone, setting off another round of buying which will rapidly deplete the remaining stock of (Alb) kits.  Since the D.VII F came out later it will probably be around a while longer.

I broke down and bought the Albatros DVa (OAW), came to $89 Canadian  :'( . I already have the DV and I have a set of decals that I bought for Werner Voss, that had markings for an OAW that I like. The only sold out kit I regret not picking up is the RE 8. I would have liked to have gotten the W29 but that duel set is well beyond my pay scale and I would have no place to put that Felix.

I would like to get the Gotha but think it may be too big. The AEG, I am thinking of saving up for, but it would probably be the limit as far as size goes.

My gut feeling is that the single seaters would sell faster than the Gotha....they were half the price, and far more buildable than the Gotha.  The Gotha is a big project.  Do you think that would deter some people initially from buying it?  I would think most people believe they could tackle the Fokkers before they would tackle the Gotha?  Unless WNW produced less of the Gotha?   I guess i'm saying it would seem less likely to sell out of the Gotha, either way I'm building one and I ordered another.....

I guess they pressed fewer Gothas... so that may well be the next one to sell out. Just a feeling mind you.

I plunked for another Gotha on the hunch that when it comes back it will be A LOT more expensive.

I've been sitting on the fence for quite some time concerning the Gotha, but I have succumbed to the speculation of it's near sold-out status and so I just purchased one.  Not really sure if I have the room and I have the 1/48 scale kit but it's hard to pass up on the craftsmanship of the WNW kits ... plus those MoRoTAS markings are ones that I would hate to miss out on.  Oh well, have to start saving up for the AEG again.

On returning home after being away for a couple of weeks I decided to order one of the recent WnW kits plus an older one - the D.VII (OAW) & I got as far as putting both in the online 'basket'. Then I thought I'd wait until the AEG came out & order everything together - not the best move! :o

As it happens there was a kit for sale on eBay at a buy now price the same as Hannants were asking (Hannants were out of stock by this time) so a D.VII (OAW) will be arriving at a 'normal' price.

Regards
Russell

I am concerned that a "culture" seems to be evolving that the moment a Wingnuts kit is officially marked as sold out, examples are suddenly being offered for sale at ridiculous prices. Of course nobody has to buy them but you hear many wails of " I was gonna buy that one!", but they waited three to five years and just missed out.....

What worries me with the trend of OOP kits immediately being offered for stupid prices is that it must motivate some to buy kits with the sole objective of scoring a mega profit when they sell out.

As we have seen with the Hansa Brandenburg W.29, even the rarest of the OOP kits can unexpectedly return and it's fair to surmise all of WNW's eight sold out kits will be back in another boxing of some sort.

In the meantime if there's a Wingnuts kit that you fancy, and you can afford it, the best strategy is buy it now and avoid the scalpers later.

Talk about being cursed!! I ordered th WNW Albatros DV and the Fokker DVII OWA 11-28-14 They are supposedly stuck in customs since 12-2-14 but USPS and NZ post can't find the package. I filed a claim with Paypal and my money was returned yesterday I got lucky and found 2 DVII's so hopefully I'll be able to trade one for a DV
