thats ridiculous, dont get me wrong i am happy you are going to make some money. this makes me want to goto the hardware store and buy some threaded rod, wingnuts and a few other bits, throw em in a box and put a $100 price tag on it.

Look closely... it's not an auction, it's a bidding war between two bidders, both of whom are responding to the "... production stopped several years ago" line in the listing.

Good grief. That's just utterly crazy.

They must be taken in by all that shiny brass, nuts & bolts.

You can get a Scram jig that does the same job for a tiny percentage of the stupid money they are bidding.

thats what i am saying. a while back i sketched up some plans for a similar type jig made from threaded rod ,some wingnuts and domed nuts, some brass strip which i was going to line with velcro and a piece of 1/8 inch styrene for a stable floor to attach the risers to. the floor plate would have different spaced holes to take smaller or larger aircraft. it would cost around $30 to $35 to make. it would basically function the same as any other jig. seems nuts to spend $300 bucks when you can buy so much kit/reference books for that. to each his own though.

Well done to Eric for getting such a good deal for his jig, like I said somewhere once before, if someone wants something bad enough they will pay any price for it.

Crazy eBay, eh? I can't trade mine for a $99 kit!

You need to put it on eBay, that crazy thing is up to $280.00 US!

Hi Rob.
I notice your Felix did well.
Congratulations! I think it's great when our members have a win.  :)

ps. I wonder if the buyer is from a country with exorbitant import fees or from the US.
Could have been cheaper direct from WNW.

Excellent news.  I had added it to my watch list early on and had thought I'd maybe bid if it wasn't too expensive, $30-$40 or so.(I've no idea what they sold for originally.)  Needless to say, that thought didn't last long!

Extremely well done Eric, this is an unbelievable price but I guess the guy really wanted it desperately.

I was thinking about this today and was wondering if maybe the winner plans to reverse engineer this and go into production?  It certainly doesn't look like it would be hard to do?  That might explain the price, but even then I'm not sure.  I'd think it would be better to just start from scratch and design your own.
