FOKKER DR.I REVELL 1/28
« on: June 15, 2012, 08:42:57 AM »
Hello friends, as promised I am publishing my first topic of the assembly of my first plane of WW I in the 90s. Fokker Dr.I manufactured by Revell in 1/28 scale. A very old kit requiring many corrections. The interior was all worked on scratch and some corrections were made on airelons, cowling and propeller. The camuflage painting was done with flat brush and acrylic paints. Hope you enjoy, despite some faults committed.

Thank you in advance your comments.
 :)

  Afonso,
Where have you been hiding at? Outstanding Fokker Tripe my friend. Very Impressive Fokker streaking and so beautifully done, the spots that appear to have  been wiped down after the mission the most convincing I've seen to date, just Awesome. From what's shown the interior appears as high caliber craftsmanship as the rest of the build certainly does. I love to see WIP photos of this masterpiece I hope you've taken some along her construction. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your works soon.
Highest Regards,
Gregory Jouette

Thanks for the comments, friends. By far the model is impressive, but up close appears many aberrations.  :o ;D Gregory, Andrew, unfortunately for my lack of experience does not photographed step-by-step assembly. These are the only pictures I have.  :(

Hi, Giordano,

A very nice model: congratulations! Your work in the cockpit interior and with the ailerons is very good, and I agree that your streaking is well done. There is always the question of whether Fokker used a greenish dope for the streaking or a more brownish colour. I think that it was both: more brown for the triplane time frame, and more green for the Fokker DVII time frame, but this does not detract from your work and your results. I was particularly impressed to see that you did not carry the streaking pattern over the ailerons from the main wing, or from the horizontal stabilizer to elevators: this is the correct way to do it. Your streaking angle on the wings is also very good. Overall, a model to be proud of: well done!
Cheers!
Gary

Very nice!!! I like your colour choice for the streaking. It is more green than brown.

Afonso,
Outstanding results with a very "limited" Kit; you've really done wonders with it. Clean, sharp, great effect with the streaking, and wonderful addition of detail.
Well done and hope to see lots more of your work!
Cheers,
Lance

Hello friends, thank you for your comments. I started building fighters of WW II in the 90's. Some years ago I was definitively charmed by the planes of WW I. So I sold my entire collection WW II assembled and started a new collection. My recent work were made by photographing the entire step-by-step. I'm preparing the files and hope to soon share with you.  :)
