Model Airways 1/16 DR1
« on: June 15, 2012, 03:21:25 AM »
I'm soon starting my ModelAirways Sopwith Camel, so have been getting as much reference as I can on it. And while I was searching I came across their blog... and it's got some interesting previews of a DR1 kit I knew nothing of before. Like the Camel, it's another aircraft I'd have liked to have had the Hasegawa kit for, but had neither the money or space. So it could be a great alternative when it's out!

Anyway, it's not going to be out for a while, but I though it may be of interest to some:

   Rizzo,
Looks darn good my friend. I hope when it's released they include the cowl too. That's the one thing that has left me cold on Modelairways kits other than that I'd love to take one of those beauties on for a challenge .  Thanks for sharing this future gem.
Highest Regards,

Interesting :) Being a modeller of wooden ships, these kits from Model Airways look appealing.

   Eric,
It's great to know that there's another ship builder with us my friend. I haven't built a wooden ship in many years but would love to again sometime.

It looks like they will this time. And I agree, it's a shame they havn't before. I'll have to make something for the Camel- it just doesn't look right to me without it's cowl or side panels.

Nice! I have the Albie, and just got the Camel. i'll hopefully get this kit when released, and put in a vote for a Sopwith Tripe as the next kit. I'd like a Spad 13 after that...

Here's another update to this one, and it looks quite promising :)
