Curtiss Hydroaeroplane scratch build
« on: January 28, 2015, 07:10:11 PM »
Here are the photos of my completed 1:32 scale scratch build Curtiss Hydroaeroplane. I thoroughly enjoyed making this model, the engine was especially exciting to build, a full build log of this model can be found here;  http://www.ww1aircraftmodels.com/page51.html

Always a pleasure to see your work, Des.
You seem to be like a fine wine - better with age  ;)

Well done!

Makes me feel like being more adventurous- but this is off the chart..

Greetings Des :)

Your scratchbuilds capture not only the fragility of Man's early flying machines, they capture the essence of Man's early adventures in flight.

Absolutely SUPERB!

Stunning as always, Des.
It really is hard to believe that men actually climbed into these contraptions with the intention of leaving the ground!

I'm already looking forward to the next one...

Beautiful, just beautiful.

Maybe you'll feel like tackling more marine subjects? :)

As ever, thanks for showing us what can be achieved!

Very very nice build. I was following it in progress and the result is great.
The process meters...  therefore so much models are stuck between start and finish

Hello Des,

Thank you very much for this wonderful voyage through "Phantasialand". I don't know how you manage to still be building better and better. I wonder what your artistry will reserve us for the next period to come. Many many congratulations for this true masterpiece!

Kind regards
Patrick

It was amazing that anyone would clamber aboard one of these things and then attempt to make it fly.

It is even more amazing that 100 years later someone should try to build a 1/32 scale replica…….. This is quite exceptional, even by your amazing standards.

Des,
Each new build continues to AMAZE me. This one is no exception! Your build thread was as always, extremely informative and a pleasure to follow along with. The Hydroplane is just GORGEOUS from tip to tip!

Des, I know I've said this with each of your scratch-builds, but this is your best yet!  How is that possible?  Not even the finest kit of any sort built by the worlds best modeler could match this.  Truly stunning.
Cheers,
Bud
