Thanks Martin and Terri.
Okay started the wood work. I didnt use the pencils as I dont think I got the right ones. You cant really see the definition or various shades in these pics. Maybe flash washed it out. Anyways I'll let it dry tonight and should be able to spray on the clear yellow "varnish". Did a bit more engine work. Still lots to do.

Nice work on the engine and in spite of what you said about not being able to see the wood tones I can pick up the variations. To Me it looks just right!

Thanks guys. Only modeling I managed yesterday was to spray on Tamiya clear yellow. This morning I checked it out and made a new wash with my last glue bottle of Paynes Grey. Put a bit on some of the areas. Will do more when I feel better. I did get some good shots of the wood though. So out of 8 pictures these show it off the best, I'm pleased with it.

Well came over sick on Saturday night and got sicker until I went to the hospital on Wednesday. After 5 hours there came out with some horse pills and inhaler to try and defeat a case of Bronchitis. So lost almost a week of modeling time but I did do some. Last night I felt a bit better and so tried to paint the wires and some fine detail. Unfortunately my hands shook so bad it was very difficult. This morning I did a bit of a wash here and there and this afternoon I did a bit of decaling. Still feel under the weather so not too much accomplished.

Oh and also glued center upper wing section together and filled any gaps.

Sorry to hear that you were unwell James, hope you have recovered.  The model is looking very good so far, the wood colours are really nice, looking forward to more updates.

It's all looking great James. Sorry to hear of your ailments, I've been fighting off the creeping crud myself.

Hope you're feeling better!  As others have said, your woodwork looks great.  I particularly like the fuel tank assembly.

Some real nasty stuff going around our neck of the woods, James. Hope the Meds work and you're back on your feet real soon. In the interim you've "aced" the woodwork and the fuel tank looks perfect!
Cheers,
Lance
