Hi all, I am currently building a WNW Albatros DV and need help in selecting the wing colours as the instructions don't appear to be correct? I use and have access to Tamiya or Gunze/Mr Hobby Acrylic paints.

Any help appreciated.

Cheers

Anthony

Anthony,
    I used Tamiya on my last Albatros DV Build as follows:
Purple - 4 parts X16 Purple to 1 part X4 Blue and;
Green - XF67 Nato Green straight out of the bottle.
   The colours seemed to match the profiles I had in several publications. Here's the results for reference......

    Hope this is of some help, not the perfect solution but to my eyes pretty likely!
Cheers,
Lance

Mister kit makes pre mixed acrylic colors that are decent. Also if you can find them Polyscale did a German Mauve and Green. Otherwise I think WNW gives Mixtures for the colors using Tamiya Acrylics.

Check out Citadel range from games workshop. They changed the colours and names recently so I'm not sure what one would work but I really like their paints. (some good colours for personal markings too)

I like that too Lance. Very effective. The mister kit mauve is a bit insipid for my taste.

    On my monitor the purple shows quite "bluish" certainly more towards blue then in actual appearance. The green section shows "bang on". I recall when I finished the model I thought a slightly lighter shade of purple may have been closer, might be worth mixing a bit and trying it on a test piece?

my favorite out of the bottle is the pollyscale german mauve. misterkit is too violet. its more of a pinkish violet thats why its called mauve i spose. i used model master napoleonic violet mixed with british crimson to taste and that was ok before i was able to get the pollyscale bottles. they are out of production though.
