Hi All

Just joined the forum, some great material here. New to WW1 modelling, trying to decide which Wingnut Kit to start with, they all look good. Love the look of the Felix, but don't think I would have anywhere to display it - looks like a big beast. Disappointed to find some kits sold out like the RE.8, but am narrowing down the shortlist. Does anyone know if there are any model shops in Sydney that stock them? Otherwise will order direct, hopefully they will not have too big a backlog after Christmas. Want to take advantage of my Christmas holidays!

Cheers

Chris

Hello Chris and welcome to the forum, so nice to have you here. No model shops in Australia stock Wingnut kits so ordering online direct from Wingnuts is your best option, they send post free.

I'm on the south coast of NSW (Shoalhaven Heads) just a two hour drive down the road from you, which part of Sydney are you from.

Thanks Des, not far you right now! Holidaying at Bawley Point on the South Coast for another few days, but we live in Springwood in the Blue Mountains. Chris

Hello from the northern hemisphere in Colorado. Snow, cold, blue skies at 7013 feet of altitude. Enjoy the sun. Any WnW kit will be a great one. I suggest a Walfisch or an Eindecker.

Hello Chris and welcome to this wonderful forum. I'm currently building my first WNW model, a Fokker D.VII. It's proving very enjoyable and the kit engineering is incredible, although the tolerances are very tight.

Best wishes
Nigel

Welcome Chris! I don't know if you have any preferences, single or 2 seater, Allied or German, etc. But of my builds so far the Snipe stands out as an example of Terrific engineering and the tolerances aren't as tight as some. The struts are engineered in a way that it is easy to get proper alignment and attachment. I am sure whatever kit you decide on you will find all of the assistance you need here!!

Thanks Guys, ended up ordering the WnW Albatros DVa kit last week, still waiting for dispatch email from them, but hopefully will see it next week - shouldn't take too long from NZ to Aust. There are some great builds I have found on this site already. Looking forward to tackling the wood finish.

Cheers

Chris
