Good Day from the UK and Happy New Year
« on: January 01, 2015, 12:29:19 AM »
I am a keen modeller in most scales and materials. WW1 aircraft in 1/32 are my newest venture being unable to resist WNW products. My main interest is aircraft, having witnessed the making of the 'Battle of Britain' film back in 1968, living opposite the Imperial War Museum at Duxford and only a 30 minute drive from The Shuttleworth collection. I hope to learn a lot from the forum and hopefully be able to give a little back in my humble way. I have been a fan of Des's builds published on the websie for sometime and decided I should join in.

Best regards
Peter

Hello Peter, seasonal greetings and welcome to this wonderful forum. Like you, it was Des's amazing builds that got me here and, having done a number of 1/48 scale Great War aircraft, I'm just dipping my toes into the wonderful WNW waters.

Best wishes
Nigel

Peter, I hate you.  >:(

Just kidding!!!!   :) :) :)
I guess we all have our own crosses to bear, eh?  I envy you the proximity to such great sites as Duxford and Shuttleworth. I went to see The Battle of Britain when it was released in theaters when I was a kid. I was already a freak for a/c of the period, but that just cemented the passion for me.

Welcome to the crazy house, hope you enjoy your stay sir.

Welcome aboard Peter, You are in an enviable location for sure. Here is the best place I found for a whole wealth of info and help and support, all a little mad but in a good way. I hope you settle in amongst us.

Now we have somewhere to drop in for coffee after enduring the M11 on our pilgrimages to Shuttleworth and Duzford. (joke of course ;))

Dear All,
Thank you very much for the warm welcome to this amazing forum.
I am very lucky living where I do from an aviation point of view and have a very understanding wife.
As a local I do get preferential access to the IWM museum most days of the year and I would be happy to provide any detail photo's that you might need of particular museum aircraft that you might be building models of.
Here's to a great modelling year.
