Hello all from Cape Cod, USA
« on: June 07, 2012, 12:43:27 PM »
Hi all,
There are many names here I recognise, and many I don't so for those I don't recognise, I'll introduce myself.
Originally from the UK, I moved to the US in '98 and after a 30-something year gap, re-entered my childhood hobby of modeling, deciding to concentrate almost exclusively (but not totally) on WWI aircraft. As I see quite a few "resumes" (CV's in the UK) I shall post a few pics of my collection so far to give an idea of where I'm at skill-wise and what is still to come....please, when I post pics of works-in-progress I don't expect or want all praise - please tell me where you think I can improve and how - I welcome constructive criticism from more experienced fellow modellers!

Airfix Roland C.II (my first effort - definitely needs more work on the control surfaces and panel lines....)

Airfix RE8: (my second build after restarting)

Encore (Roden) Fokker Dr.1

Merlin Thomas-Morse S-4c with home-made decals:

ICM Pfalz E.IV:

Scratchbuilt Bleriot XI-2:

Currently in progress are an A-W FK8, Pup and Camel. All are 1:72 scale.

Cheers all!

Ian

Welcome aboard, Ian.  Really glad to have you here.  We've certainly made the rounds, haven't we, Brit pilot?  I thoroughly enjoyed watching that brilliant Bleriot come together and I'm really looking forward to seeing the Big Ack, Camel and Pup finished as well.  Hat's off to you for doing such excellent work in such a tiny scale.
Cheers,
Bud

  Ian,
Welcome aboard my old friend. I'm very happy you joined us here and I'm looking forward to seeing your excellent projects here too. Great to see your early projects again and some for the first time as well. The little Tommy and the awesome  Bleriot are my favorites for your talented bench.
Highest Regards,

Hi Jim,
I'm currently in West Yarmouth, but actively looking for my own place to buy, so that may change, although it will still be "across the canal".

Ian,
As a Guy with "old eyes" I really admire good work in 1:72. Yours are impressive to say the least, and the Scratch Built Bleriot is a beauty! Welcome to our Forum, good luck with your house hunting, and I look forward to your contributions here.
Cheers,
Lance :)
