WNW DH2
« on: December 15, 2014, 06:23:10 PM »
Hi all!
It has been a while since my last addition to the forum, and now it is high time for a new build!
I must say that in this time lapse, I sneeked through the post and was amazed and inspired by the stunning work I saw: great craftmanship and attention to detail, to say nothing to the quality of the executions... I am not sure I'll be able to mach this quality, but it is very inspiring to see what can be acheived and this makes me willing to give it a try :)

So I'll tackle an old subject that is waiting in my stash from some years now: it is the DH2 from the "Duelist" package that stayed put since the eindecker build.
picture will come soon...

ciao

ok, let's start with some pictures of a propeller I did just to practice the 'pencil painting' I learned from Bertl.
Not perfect, I know, but a big enhancement over my previous aptempt...

Ok viewing the pictures I see that the quality is not that good... I used a flash and the colours are not at all the real ones... I'll try to get some better pictures next time.

Anyway, This is the kit of this build:

See the nice packaging?  ;)

I modified the seat and the compass first, so here is how it tourned out.... again, the picture quality is what it is...

Next I cleaned and modify the interior of the nacelle.

Hope you like it!
have a nice day!
ciao

Good to see you here again Edo, the prop is lovely! Quite some miniature weaving you've got going on that wicker seat.

Welcome back Edo, happy to see you here and building again, and what a subject you have chosen, the DH.2, one of my all time favorite aeroplanes. You did a brilliant job on the propeller, this is an art I am still trying to perfect, you nailed it. The interior detailing will prove very worthwhile once things start going together, looking forward to following along with this build.

Edo, I will be following your build with great interest.  Your
propeller is superb. The compass has the just right look to
it.  As Bo mentioned that is some job weaving the chair!

Cheers,
Ernie :)

Thank you guys!
your warm comments make me feel at home!  :)

Lance, I saw your great build. It is an inspiration to me, you did a great work on the interior and the overall finish is super clean.
Bo, I saw your great builds, the Albie and the Fokker. I was stunned as when I studied the DH2 sprues searchin for something to improve as I keept saying myself: "how it is possible that Bo super detailed this or that, as they are already perfect?" still you did! giving an inspiration to all of us!
Des, thank you mate! this site is just wonderful, a great communiy and I am proud to be part of it.

The seat is absolutely brilliant to behold - what did you use for your improvements? Tiny copper wire, i assume?

And your prop is impressive. You learned very well from Master Bertl.

Hallo Stefan!
Yes, Mastro Bertl is an artist and does great tutorials!  :)

The seat vertical 'sturds' are copper wire, the waving is 0,1 mm fishing line, the top is copper wire (bigger diametre) covered with milliput.
hope this helps!
