Jasta 18 Albatros
« on: December 15, 2014, 04:44:46 PM »
This is a WNW Albie DVa that I finished a bit ago. Jasta 18 Ravens, and just as I neared the finish line, WNW released theirs, with this scheme. I had some German RLM red, and figure the paint mix should be pretty close. I shot these in the model store where this kit is displayed, hence the green paper backdrop, and my friend holding it up for the shot of the underside. Pretty stock, except for Gaspatch turnbuckles, and many thanks to Lance for the PE belts. Anyway, here it is:

Nice and colourful! Those Jasta 18 birds in any of two versions are truly catching, aren't they? Thanks for sharing.

Absolutely gorgeous, Mike!  I love these Jasta 18 schemes.  I did Monnington's D.VII and will eventually do his Albatros.  Your shading and weathering are brilliant.
Cheers,
Bud

Great job, Mike.  The depiction of the in-service Alby is really
well done!

Thank you all for the comments! they are very much appreciated, and considering the talent here, a sign I'm going in the right direction. I have 5 more Albies, and each one has a scheme picked out already. No shortage of  great looking planes.
