I have been rather rudely lurking in the background for a few weeks and think it is about time I said hello - and thanked Des for setting up such a generous and friendly website.

I used to build a lot of 1/48 WWI stuff but dropped completely out of the hobby about ten years ago. A visit to the Scottish National Model Show last year proved my undoing. Mephistopheles - in the form of Ali MacLean of AlleyCat - opened a WNW SE5a box and waved it under my nose.
(Stands up) "I am a modelholic and was one kit away from relapse into total addiction."

Quite a few WNW & Roden boxes are starting to constitute a stash but I have little of much worth completed as yet. I am staggered by the quality of the work on show here and eager to learn so many new techniques - turnbuckles - phew! I hope I can complete something worth showing or contribute any thoughts worth sharing.

Thanks Nigel - and all the other welcomes.
Actually I tore myself away from the SE and bought two or three 1/48 kits - an F2b, a DVII and a DH4 - but they sat around unmade and after a few weeks I stuck them on ebay. I then sent an order off to NZ for an SE5a, an F2b and an LVG. I've only built the SE so far.
Just wish I'd kept all the books and tools I sold off ten years ago!

Welcome to the forum, Sandy!  It's great to have you aboard.  Has it been ten years?  Where does the time go?  Your TC Resins Short 184 prompted me to seek one out and buy it on ebay.  Your Camel Comic inspired me to build one.  Your Jenny ambulance is truly brilliant, and the list goes on.  Another listee joins the fold and we'll be the richer for it.
