Aircraft of World War 1
« on: November 16, 2014, 11:52:21 PM »
All,

Just picked this afternoon from a local (Chatham, Kent) 'The Works' store in the UK -Aircraft of world war 1 1914-18 - the essential aircraft identification guide'  priced at £4.99 in hardback cover.

I've not started reading this yet, but flicking through, clearly (as title suggests) this is more of a reference type book rather than a full, detailed, history of aviation from this conflict.  That said, it is broken down into chapters and does give some history and brief descriptions of each aircraft type.  Illustrations are mostly colour artwork type plates with a few period photographs here and there.

I thought good value for money for those that might be interested in the UK - not often you see a book specifically on WW1 aircraft.

Regards

Dave

I think this same book is available in three volumes on the Military Books ebook app. It's a nice survey of WWI aircraft types imo.

Got a copy of that one myself a few months ago.  It's one of those enjoyable books you can just pick up, open anywhere, and read a bit.

Cheers,
Eric

Yep, Bob does great work. I've still got one of his early CD's. BTW, he's still making them!
