Hello from East Tennessee
« on: November 14, 2014, 10:32:05 AM »
Hi all, found this web site today and was blown away by some of the talent here. Even though I chose to model in a different media (Paper) I still respect the efforts of the modelers of the different models I see, being 51 it has been awhile sense I have worked on a model, I have chosen to reduce some paper models from about 1/60th to 1/144th. One of the advantages of working with paper kits is that you can resize them. Happy modeling all.  Gregg

Welcome to the forum, Gregg!  Great to have you aboard.  I've been totally blown away by some of the paper models I've seen.  Especially the latest ship models on display at Telford and a brilliantly detailed 737 I saw a while back.  Amazing stuff.  I have a few WWI paper kits that I intend to translate into plastic card stock.  Lends itself well to our genre.
Cheers,
Bud

Hello and welcome to this great site Gregg. I've long been fascinated by the idea of paper modelling and it would be great to hear some of your insights into the processes involved.

Best wishes

I thought I would post a link to a paper modelers site I am a member of. it is to a cutaway model of a Fokker DVIII built from paper. the engine alone has 400 pcs. http://www.papermodelers.com/forum/aviation/30413-fokker-d-viii-1-32-cutaway.html  Finished view.
http://www.papermodelers.com/forum/aviation/28163-1-32-fokker-e-v-cutaway.html  Build thread

The modeler Texman, is someone I am in AWE of. I have nowhere near the talent of this modeler
