Salmson 2-A2 (1/32, Wingnut Wings)
« on: October 30, 2014, 09:35:28 AM »
I have started the new project - the kit is well known

I am planning to build the model of one of Polish Salmsons which flew to Poland after WW1 from France with the army commanded by General Józef Haller. The aircraft is known from two photos showing it after a forced landing.

For the markings I will use decals from Pheon Models, generously donated some time ago by Rowan - many thanks my friend, once more!

The past over two weeks I spent assembling the cockpit and finished it just a moment ago. It is now ready to be buried in the fuselage. I did not add almost anything to the kit, except for the rigging. I focused mainly on the areas which will be visible through the pilot and observer openings.

The kit elements fit like Lego bricks, no issues in this aspect encountered so far.

Wow! This is the first build of this kit I've seen and it is most impressive. Bravo!  And I love that blue! Very unexpected.

I look forward to more.

Cheers from NYC,
Michael

Thanks folks, for your nice words.

Michael, mine is not the first Salmson build here. Not to look for too far away - Chris Johnson is making very fine progress, building a lovely model in parallel, being a few steps in front of me. And that crazy blue on the tank top, without any staining and wash will not be visible. The remaining blue zones, which will be visible through the cockpit openings got some toning-down.

Exceptional work Przemol, the colours and your wood is brilliant, the rigging is very well done.

Really nice - you have a hand for painting wood. One question: The seatbelts, are those the ones provided with the kit?
