Sopwith Scout 7309
« on: October 23, 2014, 03:14:41 PM »
An excellent book, Sopwith Scout 7309 by Sir Gordon Taylor, printed in 1968.

In the France of 1917 a scout aeroplane - the fughter plane of the first world war - had an official operational life of one hundred hours. Short as this was, it was far longer than the life expectation of the average scout pilot. Gordon Taylor, then an eighteen-year-old Australian, was one of only four men in his Flight who survived the full tour of duty of six months and more, this is his story.
