You can have it good; You can have it fast; you can have it cheap. Pick any two, but all three are impossible.

That's beautiful, Pete.  I love the different types of wood you've painted, in particular- it's a skill I'm trying to master and you've done it so well.

Hi Dal, thanks for the comment, what do you paint your wood with?

Pete, I usually use a woodish-coloured matt paint.  So far I've used Tamiya 79, Mr Hobby 66, Humbrol 110 (the floor of the Spad I've just started) and Humbrol 98 as a base and a mix of raw sienna, burnt sienna and burnt umber, with a touch of Naples Yellow, for the grain.  None have given me the light, yellowish finish you've managed to achieve in this build.  That's a colour I'd like to get close to painting- it looks just like varnished oak.  I think I'll try a lighter base (Mr Colour 85 or Humbrol Authentics Linen- yes, I still have a tin) and perhaps a raw sienna and Naples yellow for the grain.

Cheers.

Dal.

Hi Dal, your Naples Yellow is what I call a pale yellow, where as I use Indian Yellow, which is a rich deep yellow, I mixed this with Raw Sienna to get the yellow effect on the wood, all on a base of Sand Acrylic, which is the colour of Clear Doped Linen. HTH.

My extinguishers have been painted and detailed, but I could not find any period info on where to fit them, so they are residing on my bench at present.

Best Regards

Keith

Mine as well Keith, so are Ians by the sound of it.

Cheers

Pete.

Hi guys
There can't be many places that it would be feasible to mount a fire extinguisher in the Fee. It would be on an upright, either in the pilots cockpit or in the observers cockpit. Here is a photo of the Memorial Flight's BE2f with a period fire extinguisher
