Hello All
« on: April 18, 2012, 09:11:32 AM »
Hi everyone,

My name is Lindsay, I'm from Canada, and I'm completely new to both modeling and Internet forums. I'm fascinated by all things WW1, especially anything with Canadian involvement. I stumbled on this forum, and I'm so glad I did.  Des is a complete gentleman, and from the sounds of it, an unwitting mentor to a lot of people. I've really enjoyed watching all the incredible builds from the sidelines. Maybe after taking in the wealth of knowledge here, I'll post my own work for some gentle critiquing. But for right now I'll just enjoy showing my son my progress on a Roden dh4 in 1:48.

Thanks for having me,

Lindsay

Hello lindsay and welcome to the forum, it is nice nice to see you here. Like you, we are all fascinated with WW1 aircraft, they are a unique aeroplane and have their place in history, we as modelers are preserving that history. There are no competitions here, just a friendly lot of modelers who love to share their work, please post photos of your DH.4, we would all like to see it.

It's great to see another Canadian come on board Lindsay. Don't be shy about posting images of your models as this isn't a competetive forum at all. The people posting here are a great bunch and as a relative newcomer to aviation modelling myself, I can say without reservation that they've all contributed a great deal to making me a better modeller. Have a look at my Roden S.E.5a build log and you'll see the issues I'm running into and how the members come forward with solutions to the problems. I think you'll find, as did I, that their encouragement is a great motivator to tackle new techniques, and with practise, they sometimes even work for me too!  :o

Cheers,

Chris

Hey Steve, speaking of Saskie hockey players, how 'bout that Braden Holtby beating the Bruins in OT? Let's hear it for the prairie boy!
