Day Bombers 1918, 55 Squadron RFC/RAF by M C Armstrong

As part of a box full of old magazines and books I was given recently, there was a full set of "Aircraft Illustrated Extra", published from 1969 to 1971?

Here is an interesting short article on 55 Squadron of the Independent Force, RFC/RAF by M C Armstrong

Oh, MOST interesting to me, James, as I am actually working on an article about the first air raid on the City of Bonn, Germany, on October 31st 1918, which was carried out by 55 Squadron! So: Thank you very much!
One more thing: Could you please give me the full quotation, which volume and issue of Aircraft Illustrated Extra?
And any idea, where to get photos of the 55 Squadron from?

Richard

P.S. Now I need a decent kit of the DH 4 in 1:32th scale. (Hope this wish will reach out 'til to New Zealand...)

Hi Richard
The article is in #7. No volume is noted. Do you have British Aviation Squadron markings of WWI by Les Rogers? It has a few photos of 55 Squadron DH4s. Independent Force by Keith Rennles is also a useful reference book.

Thank you very much, James! I have Rennles' book and will surely try to get hold on Rogers' book too!
