Building models for most part of my live  Until recently I only build aaircraft of the WW2 era. However since one of my dearest friends passed away from whom I received a WNW FE-2 early I must confess that  I totaly hooked to WW1 aircraft as well( I guess I put it away for a long time)

I am trying to make this model super detailed with all the turnbucklkes etc.
Is there someone who can help me wich buckles i can use best. I am thinking about the Gaspatch versions or are there any others on the market as well.

Hello Rob and welcome to the forum, so glad to see you here.

GasPatch make very nice 1:32 scale turnbuckles in three different styles, but you will need quite a few for your FE.2 so it could work out a little expensive. Bob's Buckles sell micro tubing already cut to length plus he sells ready made eyelets, so you can assemble them and produce your own turnbuckles, they are very inexpensive. Thirdly, you could make your own turnbuckles like I do, very easy to do and very cost effective, here is the link to my website and how to make turnbuckles; http://www.ww1aircraftmodels.com/page8.html

Hello Rob  and welcome to the forum. Sorry about the passing away of your friend. The FE-2 would be a wonderful tribute and you'll find lots of people here only too happy to share advice and provide encouragement.

Although a very sad reason for obtaining the WNW kit, it will be a lovely way to remember your friend.

Thank you all for the kind words.
Already I feel very welcome I will spend a lot of time looking for tips etc because in honour of my friend I will try to build the model as detailed as I can  IT Will take a long time I think because I must aproach it quite different then the other models i grew accustomed to.

To RAGG III if you ever visit your son please feel free to drop in. Actualy goes for everybody.

thank you,
 right now I am in the research phase(read gathering courage to start)for this aircraft I already obtained  rigging wire , detail parts from HGW and right now the Raf flat wire from WNW is on its way to me.  I also plan to obtain the right turnbuckles etc :)
