My grandson's first model build
« on: July 17, 2014, 07:41:19 AM »
I ordered Testor's snap-together P-51 for my grandson, Makai, and it arrived today.  He ripped open the package and started in on it right away.  He's got tremendous mechanical aptitude and pretty fair dexterity for a 3 year old, so he was able to figure out parts placement on his own.  He just didn't have quite enough strength to snap and screw everything together, so Papa had to help out with a few of the more challenging steps.

And here is his 1/48 scale collection.  A die-cast DH4 and his new Mustang.  He's so proud.  So's his Papa :)

Cheers,
Bud

Excellent Bud, thanks for sharing these precious moments with Makai, he is a budding new model maker and has certain talents already, best of all he has a great teacher and grandfather.

I don't have a grandson but I do have two granddaughters, one of them , the 8 year old has taken a very keen interest in my aeroplanes, you just never know.

My Grandson has a keen interest in my models, my display cabinet and my play room but I'm not sure the interest is that constructive... ;D

Seeing what he does to most his toys when he eyes my kits I sweat a little. though he's bright and keen to learn what each is

Good to see the interest fostered in the young'uns though and thanks for sharing Bud.

Ah geez Bud. Did ya have to tell us he's only three?! That P-51 looks better than the one I built last year! That settles it, where did I put that rug hooking kit I picked up awhile ago . . .

Cheers,

Chris
You can have it good; You can have it fast; you can have it cheap. Pick any two, but all three are impossible.
