This is continuing to be a stunning build! Your post shading looks awesome! The little details you have added are also excellent!

I completely agree with Rick - this is a truly amazing build and most interesting to follow.

Hello Lance,

Thank you! So glad it turned out so  nicely. Good to have mounted some pins on the struts, they certainly will be more stable then mine were. Your wing postshading is fabulous and the weathering outstanding. I think your are out of misery now. The rest will turn out quite easy for your outstanding craftmanship!
Well done!

Kind regards
Patrick

Thanks All for your positive and encouraging comments. This one is trying my patience a little, so words such as yours are most welcome and keep the enjoyment factor in the "black"!
I have another update and photos before getting serious about the rigging and going final on this Build. First, the weathering completed two days back, which is mostly to the undersurfaces.

and now "True Confessions" time...........I rarely get through a Build without at least one "head up posterior" total Gaff, and this hopefully will suffice for this little project! I discovered that at some point I managed to drop the lower surface of the bottom wing into a puddle of Medium CA I had on a piece of tile. DOH!!!!!!!   I've cleaned it up as best I could without lifting the paint and decals, given it a coat of Semi Gloss Acryl, and will now just pretend it's not there!
   Looking pretty nasty........

    and after the repairs.........

Since the completion of that nasty little episode the pre-rigging has been completed, upper wing mounted and all struts in place, and I'm ready to complete the rigging. I've got her perched on the assembly jig only to steady her for rigging.

And a couple of quick overall shots to complete the update......

Once the rigging is complete the landing gear will be installed, the tail rigged, and She should be moving to the Completed Models Section.
Cheers,
Lance

Ouch! I can commiserate with you on that CA incident. Nice work on cleaning it up! You'd never know there was a blob of glue there at all. She's looking good!

Cheers,

Chris

Lance -

Boy do I know that gaff - I've done precisely this many times myself so know how frustrating it is.

Good recovery anyway - so back on track!

The model is looking extremely good Lance, nice colours, great weathering, the rigging so far looks good and the repair you did was superb, well done. Looking forward to your final sprint to the finish line.

Another brilliant save, Lance!  Only a true master can recover so seamlessly.  Looking forward to the rigging.

I'm really like how this is coming along Lance . Super job on the weathering as well ! Looking forward on the rigging , are you going to wrap the double wires ? I know your pain Lance , 99% of all my projects have mishaps and at least one cat hair ! You did well on the repair job  :)

Ditto on all of the above comments Lance.  You've created a beautiful replica of Roosevelt's aircraft.  Very well done!

Many Thanks, all of you, for the continuing compliments and support. This Build has been a slight eye opener for me, we get spoiled by the near perfection of the excellent WNW Kits and it's a real challenge, at least for this old "F(*&(^t", to step back into basic modelling.
Terri, I will be wrapping the doubles, have Dal's Post at my side to help but still have no idea, really, how to pull this off. I also have Tom Morgan's 1:48 Build (with Lance Krieg's) in a back issue of Windsock to reference, a few ideas to try there as well. "It ain't over til it's over!!!"
This back issue was ordered back when I was gathering info for this Build, just arrived!? Great issue, being almost totally devoted to an excellent article on Quentin Roosevelt by Alan Toelle. Wonderful photos and a real tribute to the man.

So, next time I sit down at the bench it'll be Rigging Time..............wish me luck! ::)
Cheers,
Lance

Hello Lance:

Nice save on the CA incident!  I think it looks pretty darned nice and motivates me to do another one.  I know the travails one encounters on a kit that seems Gremlin layden.  This is coming along nicely Lance, the colors sure match the cover of the "OTF".
Looking forward to seeing it in the completed section.

Best
