AMC DH2
« on: July 05, 2014, 06:01:19 PM »
Friends,

the wife decided that it was time for a change - as some kind of challenge I should build an Engländer. She bought the Duellist kit from WNW, which means that I will have to tackle the DH2 during the next months.

I have ZERO experience with things PC10-related, I herwith kindly request some information please on this aircraft/kit.
- Any recommendations for reading, apart from the Datafile on the DH2 (Nr 48, methinks)?
- Any traps hidden within the kit? Anything to be aware of during the build?
- A recipe for PC10?

Kindest regards,
Stefan

What a nice wife you must have, you lucky man!

Can't comment on the kit as I've not seen it , but I've looked at the instuctions on the WNW web-site over and over. The DH2 is one of my "one day soon" day-dreams  :).

This is my recipe for a PC10:
Mix a brown with a green until it's impossible to say for sure that it's either one or the other:

Not a great photo I know, the green's a little on the dark side, but you can vary the basic colours.

Cheers,
Tony.

Stefan,
I almost choked on my morning coffee when I read your last request; a recipe for PC10!?!!?! ;D We have 1,744 members here and I'll bet if you actually canvassed all of them we'd have over 100 absolutely correct versions of the elusive shade to choose from. ;) I really like Tony's suggested method; makes as much sense or more then any I've seen prior, and actually I kind of like the colour he's come up with!
Enjoy your DH2 and I'm looking forward to following it; it's getting closer to the front of the line in my project schedule as well. In the interim think of PC 10 like snow flakes; they all look the same but actually of the billions out there no two are alike. To Quote Keith (Kornbeef) "that's half the fun of it" ::)
Cheers,
Lance

PS. On a serious note, search PC10 here. There's been some really good formulas given here, just a matter of which YOU prefer!

I have used this paint on flying models and the PC10 is very realistic (at least to me !!)
