Test post Fokker D. VII
« on: July 02, 2014, 05:15:04 AM »
Trying to upload a photo of my Eduard Fokker D.VII OAW flown by Franz Buchner of Jasta 13.  Hope this works.

Oh, I would appreciate any comments even if they're negative. I'll never improve unless I know how what I'm doing wrong or right.

Thanks

Robert

Fantastic looking D.VII, Roberto!  What lozenge did you use?
Cheers,
Bud

I cannot see anything wrong with this - looks great - a very neat and tidy build all round.

The were the ones supplied in the Eduard kit.  They go on easily and are nice and thin but very brittle and fragile.  If you sneeze on them they chip.

Well, you did an outstanding job with them.

I was wondering where was the rigging…….and then remembered Fokker D VII's did not have any! This is a first class model and I agree with Bud that you have applied the lozenge camouflage really well.

Very little rigging on the D. VII ,  thank God.   If I ever build something with lots of rigging, I'm going to go to 32th scale to keep from going blind.

THANKS for the positive comments.   Now let's see the negative ones.

Nothing negative from my side of the bench, it looks impressive. The overall finish on the model is very well done and the lozenge excellent.

Well, Here is my negative comment. You have no right building such a Beautiful DVII as one of your first WW1 builds  ::)

Nothing from the negative side from me , very nicely build . Nice clean paint work and your lozenge application is super .

I was worried about the lozenge decals since they gave me such fits when applying.

One thing I did try which worked out alright was to brush on Vallejo matt instead of spraying. You can't see from the photo but the  brush marks give the lozenges a subtle textured surface.

Really nice model. A few more pics would be appreciated.
For your pics, maybe you could try to use a spot light, because the camera flash kind of 'flattens' the model.

Yeah, I thought of that.........after the fact.  Wish I could get better close ups but my camera isn't too great.

Looks good to me Roberto.

Another tip for the photos, set it up to use natural light, e.g. sunlight or 5000K natural light globes are now quite cheap and ok for lighting for photography if on a budget. Also cheap LED lights from the hardware store can be used.
