Mighty ingenious, Mark.  I go away on vacation and look at all this activity!

Nice progress...

Thanks Dan and Terri! I appreciate you looking in on my build!

The tail was not plumb installed without modification so I had to add a few pieces of plastic to get everything aligned properly......

Time for some puttying! I'll also have to mark out and paint the wooden part of the tail that is not represented on the tail piece. Here is the tail of my LVG so you can see the wooden part i am talking about....

more soon,

Mark

Thanks Martin! It's always great to hear from you!

I've finished filling and puttying the gaps around the tail and I brushed a coat of Mr Surfacer 500 to check for any problems. All OK now.

I've added top wing trailing edge stops and end stops to the jig to hold the top wing in place so it won't move around while I make the struts.

Cabane struts are just about done and everything is lining up very well. There will be one more connecting strut to add to each side of the cabane struts but right now I'm only worried about the weight bearing struts.

I've made one wing strut from brass Strutz material. You can see there is an inward cant to the struts. The LVG struts were straight so I'll have to relocate the strut holes in the bottom wing.

that's all for today, more soon,

Mark

May i dare give you a little tip, to avoid this problem? Tape the wings together in correct position, then drill up through the bottom wing into but not all the way into the top wing and you will have corresponding holes, works for rigging to!Sorry to be so presumptuous.
My stash is out of control!

Many thanks for the tip. I always try to find new ways of doing these things.

As it sits, all I have to do is to relocate the strut holes a few millimeters inward and I'm done, no need to drill any holes through the wings at this point. The rib detail on the wings is very fine so I don't want to do a lot of sanding on them, so everything I've done to this point is to save the wing detail.

Mark,
fantastic work! The fuselage and tail assembly work is well done. The continued work with the self made jig continues to amaze me!

Not a lot of time to model but here is the progress so far. The Aviattic Decals are awesome to work with and look great in 1/72, many thanks to Richard! Almost ready to mount the top wing.

thanks for checking in,

Mark

That's looking very sweet Mark!  Beautiful finish. ;D  I really like the wing alignment jig you used, too.  Brilliant homemade solution. :D

Cheers,

Bob

Thanks guys, I know the pictures aren't very good. My camera broke and I'm using a loaner. I'll have good finished build pics.
