Pfalz D.IIIa, Eduard, 1:48 - Black Degelow
« on: June 18, 2014, 05:36:25 AM »
Hello,
It was hard to give a monochromatic coating in the way to get interested by the results. In order to do so I have enhanced the ribs visibility, this came out much softer that in Pfalz Jasta 5. Moreover mixed black paint with little warmer shade i.e red and finally used green dry pigments to imitate fatigue of material
Thanks to xmald I could have applied the proper crosses, which can be seen on photos available on web.
Thanks again xmald!
Enjoy

regards
K

Beautiful model, Krzysiek. The black looks really good, especially the
lighter "shading" on the wings.  Well done!

Cheers,
Ernie :)

Lovely work all around! As you said, black is difficult and you have NAILED the finish!

Truly gorgeous, K!  The tonal variations in your black are brilliant!

Great to see such a lovely Pfalz, Krzysiek! You have done a very fine paint job on this black bird.

Hello K:

I like the way this turned out.  It is difficult to paint a solid air plane and not have it look toylike or to be interesting.  You did a great job of making black look less black but still look like black.  Outstanding work.

Best
